Spotify Blend is one of the most popular social features on the platform. It combines Spotify’s personalization capabilities and collaborative playlist functionality into a single shared playlist, reflecting both your musical tastes and those of your friends or family.
Spotify Blend allows you to blend with up to 10 people in a group—whether it’s your running club, favorite coworkers, group chat, book club, or chosen family. It even gives you the chance to blend with some of your favorite artists. The best part of this Blend feature is that you can use it with either a Free or Premium Spotify account. Follow this guide to know everything about Spotify Blend, including how to create, join, leave, and more.

You can create and join a Spotify Blend on mobile and desktop devices. We recommend using the mobile app, so you can see the percentage score showing how similar your taste is to your friends.
Once your friend has accepted the invite, Spotify will generate your shared Blend playlist, which will include songs and recommendations that reflect everyone’s music preferences and tastes. You’ll even be able to see which songs were added for which friend.
This Blend playlist isn’t static. It is typically updated daily based on what everyone in the group is currently listening to.

Both Spotify free and premium users can join the Blend. Spotify free users can also view all songs. However, they can only listen to the Blend in shuffle mode, and there is no download option for offline playback.

After receiving the invitation link from your friend, follow these steps to join the Spotify Blend. We recommend using the Spotify app on your mobile devices to see the Blend Story and your taste match score.

To leave a Spotify Blend, open the Spotify app on your mobile device, tap the playlist’s three dots, then select “Leave Blend.”
You can only remove the Blend playlist from your Library on desktop. However, this doesn’t mean to leave the Blend; you can still find it under “Made For You.”

Spotify Blend isn’t just for friends. The platform also lets you blend with certain artists, creators, and athletes and see how your musical DNA compares to theirs. Check out who you can blend with, and create a Blend with them.
