With the built-in Clock app, you can easily turn your smartphone into a customizable alarm clock. On iPhone, you can set alarms using pre-installed ringtones, custom sounds purchased from the iTunes Tone Store, or DRM-free audio files saved in your Apple Music library (Streaming tracks downloaded through an active Apple Music subscription cannot be used directly as alarm sounds due to DRM protection). On Android, most default Clock apps let you choose any local audio file stored on your device as an alarm tone. Furthermore, the Google Clock app offers native integration with streaming services like Spotify, YouTube Music, and Pandora, allowing you to wake up to your favorite online playlists.

However, what if you are a Tidal user? Currently, no standard clock app natively supports streaming music directly from Tidal as an alarm sound. To use a Tidal track as your alarm, you must first convert or download the audio into a local format (like MP3) and transfer it directly to your phone’s internal storage.

How to pick a song from your Music library as an alarm sound on iPhone?

  1. Open the Clock app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Alarm at the bottom.
  3. Tap the “+” icon in the top right corner to add a new alarm or select an existing one.
  4. Select Sound.
  5. Tap Pick a song. This will take you to your Music library.
