Your Library in Music app is the collection of music items from Apple Music and iTunes Match (if you subscribe), your other devices, CDs, the iTunes Store, or other services. You can access your entire music library on all your devices when you’re signed in with the same Apple ID and connected to the internet.

The whole library are saved in Cloud, you can stream the whole music library on these devices with internet connection, however, to play them offline, you need to download them on your device. Apple Music makes it easy to download individual songs, albums, and playlists, but there’s no direct way to download everything in your music library at once.

Luckily, there are a couple of workarounds that will let you download all songs in your Apple Music Library on computer or mobile devices, even in MP3 format, check them out.

Option 1. Turn on Automatic Downloads

To download songs in your Library, you can turn on Automatic Downloads in Apple Music settings.

On Mac

  1. Open Apple Music app.
  2. Choose Music > Preferences, then click General.
  3. Turn on Automatic Downloads.

On iOS

  1. Open Settings – Music.
  2. Scroll down and toggle Automatic Downloads on.

However, it only downloads the songs you added to Library after turning on the feature. Songs added to Library before turning on this feature won’t be downloaded automatically.

To download all songs in your Apple Music Library added before turning on Automatic Downloads, you can select all songs and add them to a playlist to download.

Just head to the Songs tab in your Library section. Once you’re there, select all of your songs(click the first song, scroll down to the bottom, hold shift button and click the last song) and add them to a new playlist.

Then click the download icon to download all songs. The playlist will sync to all devices signed in with your Apple ID, so you can download the Library songs on Mac/PC/iOS and Android.

Option 2. Create a smart playlist

Create a smart playlist to contain all songs in your music library. Whenever you add items to your music library that meet the criteria of a Smart Playlist, the Smart Playlist is automatically updated to include them. Then you just need to download the Smart Playlist.

1. Open Music app on Mac.

2. Click File – New – Smart Playlist from the menu bar(or use the keyboard shortcut Alt+Cmd+N).

3. Click the first drop-down and choose Time.

4. Click the second drop-down and choose is greater than.

5. Keep the time as 00:00. This will ensure that the smart playlist contains every song longer than 0 seconds in length, which should cover all of your music. Then click OK.

6. Now the smart playlists is created with all songs in your Library.

7. Rename the playlist for easy recognization.

8. Click the download icon to download the playlist, which contains all songs in your Library.

The smart playlist will automatically updated when you add new songs to your Library. You can download the playlist (your entire library) anytime to make are newly added songs are downloaded.

How to download entire Apple Music Library on mobile devices?

However, smart playlists won’t be synced to mobile devices and you can’t create smart playlist on them. If you want to create smart playlists on mobile devices, you can use Marvis Pro.
