How to transfer Spotify music to USB?

"I want to save my offline songs to a usb drive so I can use this on my iPad instead of taking up 3GB of space on my iPad.  Is it possible to direct Spotify Premium to save those offline songs to a USB? I want to listen OFFLINE on my iPad on long airplane trips and dont want to load up 3-5GB of music on my iPad."

How to save Spotify cache for offline to USB?

On Android:

1. Plug in a usb/external SD card to your device.
2. Go to your app settings and delete the Data, Cache and then uninstall the Spotify app.
3. Reinstall the app.
4. Spotify should now automatically chose your SD Card/USB drive. Spnotify will chose to save wherever has the largest storage available.

On Mac/Windows:

1. Click in the top-right and select Settings .
2. Scroll down and click SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS.
3. Scroll down to Offline storage location.
4. Click CHANGE LOCATION and choose your USB.

But this procedure won't work on the iPad/iPhone. Spotify only recognizes the iPad internal storage.

Note: Although you have moved Spotify offline cache to USB, they are not playable songs since Spotify stores the cache for offline in some encrypted form. You can only use store the encrypted offline tracks in a USB. To play them you still need Spotify app.
